I’m not asking for a list of all the ones that exist — please let me know, whether it be from experience or research or a NY Times article, WHICH of the free web hosting sites is the best. Which ones give the most template options? Which ones give the most options and capabilities for free? Which ones are best for people who are beginners, or for people who are experts, or for people who have a basic knowledge of web design?

If you can answer any of these questions, I would be grateful!! Thank you!!

  154. Praveen says:

I posted this question about half an hour ago but I think I didn’t choose a good section for it, hope you can help and thank you in advance…

As my website is up for renewal this month I am considering moving providers. I am pleased with the current providers but there are too many glitches and I can’t afford to keep contacting them each and every time- even though they are helpful. I don’t have the time or talent to create my own website from scratch but I can confidently use most webuilders so thats not a problem.

    What I want:
Galleries (for loads of photos, must load quick and I don’t want the page to refresh each time as clients will lose interest so maybe slideshows?)
    Password protected areas
    Information areas
Possibly a shop (paypal only is fine)
It must look sleek and proffesional

As with most people I have an EXTREMELY low budget. I actually only pay £50 a year pluse domain fees at the moment and if it will cost much more than that I think I will stick with current provider.

I am not expecting someone to do all this work for nothing, I am just looking for a webuilder/provider who supplies these things at a reasonable price.

I am in charge of the website for my non-profit, but I honestly don’t know anything about that kind of stuff. The company we used before just had a premade template that I uploaded stuff to. I didn’t even sign up for it, so I don’t know what kind of package we have. But we want to do a nicer site, so I was told to use GoDaddy. I don’t know what to do though. I see they have a website builder, or you can pay for web hosting. What is the difference? Which am I supposed to do? We still have a fairly basic website, so it doesn’t have to be fancy, but I need to know what I am supposed to select.
