I have an A4 size canvas and some tubes of acrylic pait, what should I paint with them?
Please no random ideas like a ninja chicken, I want to paint something pretty, and I really don’t want to copy any other pieces of work but would appreciate it if you could give me some inspiration.
Also, I will NOT paint the moon, sun, earth, stars, comets or meteors etc. I wouldn’t mind flowers but I’m not awfully good at them. I might do a pattern, so I would like it if you post a link for some ideas…
    Thanks. 8D

So, I stated making my first long bow ,55 1/2 in. out of an oak log, and the limbs don’t go back to a vertical position. They are always bent back towards me. The piece of oak I made it from has been sitting in my garage for close to a year, after i cut it down to attempt another bow. I don’t know if it needs to cure longer or what, but the only thing left for me to do now is expand the arrow rest and stain the bow.
The bow limbs only curve back towards me after i have strung the bow and unstrung it. It was made from a two in. at top to 2 1/2 in. diameter oak log that cured standing up with the bark still on.

I would like to make one of those super cute diy headboards, but the bed frame that I currently own attaches to the headboard. Is this a common occurrence? Is it possible to have a headboard other than the one that came with the bed? I would not be opposed to selling this bed for a new one, but I don’t want to run into this problem again, and I do not want to have my mattress and box spring sitting on the floor.

My mom has a couple of fruit trees that always want to blossom in the warm spells we have in February. We live in North Texas, so a late frost is almost always going to freeze the blossoms and prevent the tree from giving ANY fruit. So how do we keep the fruit trees from blooming too early, then not giving any fruit for the rest of the season?
The trees in question are Nectarines and peaches, though the peaches sometimes re-bloom and give fruit in the summer. Her cherries actually seem to wait for the last frost. What crazy trees!

I just signed up at Bellasara.com and I was wonder, after you clean, feed, and groom your horse, is there anything you have to do to save it? Well any tips on the game would be very helpful as well. Tell me all about it!

I saw a bush while driving and I don’t know what it is called. It is a medium sized bush and it has pink flowers in the spring that look like peach tree blossoms or crapapple blossoms. The leaves are red ish purple. Any information would be very helpful since it is a beautiful bush and I’d love to have one. If it helps I live in New England.

  7. mike s says:

Well…the folks here at Hakugyokurou, like most of Japan, celebrate it every Spring when the cherry trees blossom. We celebrate it because it’s a really old tradition. I’m pretty sure other countries have similar flower-viewing events with different flowers, but I don’t know the customs of most of the Western countries. What spiritual significances do they associate with flower viewing?

  8. Phillip123 says:

What does it look like in the Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall….

  9. JDOGG1122 says:

I would like to know what these trees look like at other times of the year, when they’re not in bloom. In summer, for example.

My friend is planning a wedding and wants some unique orange themed flowers/plants. Any suggestions?

  16. Sergeant Pickle says:

I recently went to a wedding where the centerpiece was one thick, tall, green stem (probably about 5 feet tall) with other branches stemming off it. It had gorgeous small white flowers. I would guess some type of orchid, perhaps, but does anyone know what variety?

  17. Taylor2k says:

    Of the flesh, And rotton
These old bones likley to break

    Blood not pumping,
    Veins running dry

    Death working its way,
    We’re losing ground

    The generals shot,
    But not dead

    Oceans eroding,
    our mountain

    Worry blossoms,
    Of this winter

    Pace of death quickens,
    While mine retards

A spring flower never lives forever
    But did live

I have some bearded irises in my flower bed, and was wondering how long do they continue to flower during the spring/summer season? Is there anything I can do to have them flower longer? Do I need to pinch the blossoms off when they start to die? I’m new to these, and not sure how to look after them. Any help would be much appreciated.

  20. isk8at818 says:

I have used my free tune up utilities 2009.

  21. LN13 says:

I have these beautiful iris flowers that are blossoming now…I love them.
My question is, should I do something to them when the blossoms fall off to make more blooms come back next year? I didn’t know if I had to dig them up and re-plant them or something I had heard. Please be specific…I love these flowers and I want them to keep looking good year after year! Thanks!

  22. Roflcopter says:

I’m planning my wedding. One of my flower choices is the orange blossom. You’d think because i live in Florida i’d know when orange blossoms bloom, but i don’t and i can’t find anything that tell me when. I’d prefer to know which month, if possible. If not then just the season is fine. Thanks.

  23. lucasg615 says:

I am planning to grow tulips in my garden. The flowers look beautiful but I have really not seen a second flower growing (after the first flower dies or breaks). I want to know how it works. After the first flower blossoms and dries up, do more flowers grow on it one after the other or the plant then is a total waste??

  24. Scorch Delta-62 says:

I want to plant seeds because this is going to be a project with kids. The more colorful the better! If anyone has an suggestions I would really appreciate it!!

  27. thinkthought says:

I was told that seeds will germinate quicker after a period of cold weather eg. flowers blossoming in the spring after the cold temperatures in winter, but I don’t understand why this happens?

  28. Duke says:

We have some daffodils that have started flowering and I was curious as to how long the flowers normally last. Will they die off in 2 days, or do they last longer?

Also, out of curiosity, does anyone know how long Hibiscus flowers are supposed to bloom for? I had a plant last year and the flowers tended to only last about 1 day and then started to wilt.

  29. Cliffy N says:

I know that Spring is the season for cherry blossom, but are there any plants which begin to blossom in Japan in the Autumn, esp. at the end of October and in November. Maples look beautiful at this time of year but if anything the colours they turn indicate that they are coming to the end of their year. So, what is beginning it’s year at this time? Thank you in advance for any genuine help provided.

  30. Sriram R says:

I have 3 flower beds in my front yard. 2 are against the house and 1 is along the side of the yard bordering the neighbors yard (no fence). I want to plant some bushes, shrubs, flowers or even small trees that will look nice, choke out the weeds, add some color and be easy to maintain. I also don’t want to spend a lot of money. I have automatic sprinklers so watering isn’t an issue. I live in Northern Utah.

If you could suggest a good website or link to a picture that would be great. I appreciate any suggestions.

  31. fattiemanny says:

  32. Cupcakerum says:

I bought my house last year and the landscaping was terrific. The tulips, roses and other flowers lasted all spring and summer long. I don’t know what happened this year. Is there more I should’ve done besides watering them once a week? Now that there dead is there something I can do to get them back to life? or Do I have to plant all new ones?
How do I fertilize plants that already exist? Is there some kind of spray fertilizer that I mix with water when I water the plants?

  33. stingerms says:

I want to put a flowering vine plant on my balcony and use the railing as a trellis. Something with big colorful blossoms. My apt faces east so it would only get sun till about 1 at the latest. (need to be a partial sun plant) What would you suggest i put out? Im on the third floor so the plant would have to be potted. Thanks!

  35. Kaylla says:

I don’t know how old it is, but the base of the trunk/stem thing is about the size of a quarter. Do I need another cherry tree to make it have blossoms and cherries? My next door neighbor has a cherry tree but I’m not sure it’s the same type of cherry (mine’s a bing cherry tree) and it’s about like 20 feet away from it… It has lots of leaves and it’s about 7 1/2 or 8 feet tall but no flowers. I planted it last spring

  37. Mathew says:

Alright my mom has always loved the lilac bush at our house but my dad and her got a divorce and she moved. I usually bring her some of the flower each spring but I was wondering. If I have a healthy lilac bush, how can I propagate another one?
I have never noticed it growing seeds after the flowers so how do they reproduce and start another bush, and whats the best way to plant them to insure they grow.

I live in central Oklahoma, I don’t know if that helps.

  40. rashest_hippo says:

I have a very small area and three flowering cherry trees. For several weeks in April I have to deal with TONS of pink flower buds that eventually fall from the trees. I have to hold off doing any gardening until the trees have finished blooming, and was just wondering if there was some type of chemical the trees could be treated with that would prevent them from blooming next spring.

    Thanks !

  41. Cole says:

Okay, every spring my daughters, my husband and I like to plant flowers.
This year, we have gotten Marigolds, Impatients, Pansies, and a couple of others.
We also planted sunflowers that are about the only things that are coming along nicely.
The Marigolds, I was told are very hard to kill, but they are dying, nonetheless. All of the half blooms are drying up and falling off, and we water everything daily. The soil is nice and moist and we have mixed flower food into the soil as well.
The pansies are a disaster. There are no longer any flowers left, but the stems are all nicely green and healthy. The Impatients are going the same road as the Pansies, and I am getting very frustrated.
I know I am not the best, and generally have a blue thumb as opposed to a green one, but I was assured all we picked out were very hard to kill and that all would be fine in direct sun as we have little shade here.
    Any suggestions would be great.

  42. Sergio says:

I need to write a sonnet about spring, and have it hold an inner meaning about a new love blossoming.

So far, I have one about a flower blossoming…what could be some other spring examples that can be symbolized with a new love?

Thank you, any help would be greatly appreciated! I have writer’s blog currently.

I am trying to find a similar flower to use in the arrangements so I can maintain some consistency. Pink is best, but I can have white flowers dyed. Thanks for Your help!

What are some spring limericks? Make sure the limericks rhyme and make sure that you made it up. If you have more than 2 and they are good you will get 5 stars but if you have 1 or 2 and they are great you will get 5 stars. They have to describe the spring or what you do in the spring and what pops up in your mind when you hear the word spring. They also don’t have to be limericks they could just be poems. Thanks!

  51. Thomas A says:

  54. Seth says:

From research on the net, it seems it’s advisable to thin the amount of fruit on pear trees so as to improve the quality, and to do so as early as possible.

Is it advisable to thin the blossoms (before they start turning into fruit)?

If so, can anybody tell me where to find photos / examples of the process. Since the blossoms come in clusters, I’m not sure which ones to remove – a few of the blossoms, or the whole cluster.

Finally, if I have too many spurs on a branch, should I take the spur off completely, or just remove the blossoms?

Any advice would be much appreciated, esp. photos etc, as it’s a bit difficult to work out exactly what to do from written instructions.

  55. tefa_96 says:

I don’t think cherry blossoms grow cherries, and cherry trees do, but do cherry trees get those beautiful pink flowers in the spring? Or do they stay green all the time???

  56. rndmaktn says:

This does not make sense. Why is Japan not allowed to have its own military? This law was part of the “anti-war constitution.” Japan signed this constitution when they surrendered during ww2. But I have two questions:
    1) Why was Germany allowed to keep their military even though they surrendered but Japan could not?
    2) Why did the Japanese emperor Hirohito agree to sign this constitution when he clearly loved having a military (not for good reasons)? I would think he would refuse to sign something that would mean no more Imperial army.

Also, that brings up another question. Why was emperor Hirohito not killed? I am sure that if the Red Army had found Hitler alive in that bunker they would have killed him. The US and Great Britain would have also. Did Hirohito stay under the radar more than Hitler? Did he sign the anti-war constitution in exchange for his life?

Btw, I have been to Japan and they are wonderful people. I enjoyed seeing the plum blossoms in the spring!! Those lovely flowers were one if not the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life!!

  57. Ryan Z says:

Where would I be able to purchase some Cherry Blossom trees in Australia? The ones Im after are native and quite popular in Japan. They grow fairly large, have dark brown bark and In spring they bloom with white/pink flowers.

Too Old to Plant the Seeds

When I am too old to plant the seeds
That make new flowers for spring,
I will sit with my tea and enjoy the blossoms
    Of yesterday’s plantings,
    Now fully grown and robust, with life and beauty;
    Standing tall and lovely
    all on their own.
A just reward for this old gardener . . .
A rainbow displayed across my garden wall.

I have a McAfee paid subscription that is about to expire. I also have AVG free version installed in my computer, and Windows Defender. I really do not want to renew my McAfee antivirus subscription if I can get a good free antivirus. I read some reviews that AVG is not that good, so what are my options? I also need a free personal firewall. Any suggestions?

Does any one think that the twins small size could have been because of the close relationship between the parents and not the lack of sunlight?

I just reread the first two novels for like the 6th time.

After 8 months, i think, Cathy and Chris noticed the kids weren’t growing and measure them and they’d only grown 2 inches. Who’s to say they would have grown if they’d been in the sun?

When do you think the Mother started poisoning them? They said the doughnuts started coming while their mother was on honeymoon. So do you think the grandmother and mother were in it together? Do you believe the mother when she said she only wanted to get them a little sick?

I know it’s wrong, but I love Chris’ undying love for Cathy, and I wish the third novel had been written in Chris’ point of view, because I would have loved to know more about the girls he slept with and what he did while he was away from Cathy.
They were taking vitamins though. That should have helped.
Yes, I’ve read all the novels several times. At the moment, I can’t bring myself to read the last two again. (that v.c. andrews really wrote). It’s just so sad. I wish the mother could have left them alone in the third novel, so they could have been happy for a few more years, and maybe Bart would have been more normal. Why should Cathy have had to feel ashamed in front of her mother when it was her mother’s fault it all happened in the first place!

In the 60s, there weren’t really a lot of people going to therapy and all that, and all the while they had to keep it secret about the relationship for so many reasons.

It would be kind of interesting if the story were set in the 90s with all the technology that we have now, what would their life have been like in the attic then.

I wish V.C. Andrews hadn’t died. She wrote too few books. It’s such a shame. And the ghost writer ruined Garden of Shadows. I know V.C. would have made it a great novel.

I’m entering a drawing contest and the theme is “Spring”. I was just wondering what color schemes, items, or anything symbolizes spring. (Like how in renaissance how a mirror would represent God. Or at least I’m pretty sure what it represents…) So basically just items the show that it’s spring. Thanks. :)

My fiance and I want to have our wedding in the month of April on the day he and I first started going out. Unfortunately, British weather has a reputation for being wet, windy and cold, even in the summer so I’m not getting my hopes up on a sunny spring day.

However, I do want to make the wedding and, springy, as possible so I’m going to include lots of pink blossom in the decoration and I was thinking of scattering pairs of those little chicks you see cheap in Poundland every Easter, one with a black, felt bow tie and one with a white veil. (Too tacky?)

I was wondering if anybody else had some interesting ideas?

Nothing has been planned so ideas on the cake, decorations, themes, reception will be useful. The only two things I’m sure about is 1) I want the bridesmaid dresses to be some shade of grees and, 2) The wedding will be taking place at my local Church so I can’t go abroad for it until the Honeymoon. :)
